Majid Jordan in South Africa is officially on the cards again in 2026, with the Canadian R&B duo announced as the latest headliners for Milk + Cookies Festival 2026.

Milk + Cookies Festival 2026 forms part of Milk + Cookies Music Week South Africa, an 11-day programme running from 24 December 2025 to 14 January 2026, with flagship festival dates in Cape Town on Saturday, 3 January 2026, and in Johannesburg on Saturday, 10 January 2026.

The 2026 edition is already set to feature US rapper Gunna on his Wun World Tour, alongside local heavyweights DJ Kent and Vigro Deep, with organisers promising more international and South African names as the summer approaches.  

Festival operations director Tebogo Mokoena has said the goal is to blend “international talent with South Africa’s most exciting homegrown sounds” and position the festival as part of the country’s growing reputation as a global music destination, with multiple stages, art installations and a mix of hip-hop, R&B, amapiano and house on the bill.  

Milk + Cookies Festival 2026: dates, venues and headliners

For 2026, Milk + Cookies Festival is scheduled as follows:

  • Cape Town: Saturday, 3 January 2026
  • Johannesburg: Saturday, 10 January 2026

Majid Jordan now joins Gunna, DJ Kent and Vigro Deep as part of the headline line-up, with more additions expected in the coming months.

The festival is marketed as one of the first major events of the summer in Cape Town and the closing highlight of Milk + Cookies Music Week in Johannesburg.  

When was the last time Majid Jordan were in South Africa?

Majid Jordan — vocalist Majid Al Maskati and producer Jordan Ullman — are signed to Drake’s OVO Sound label and are known internationally for co-creating the hit Hold On, We’re Going Home.  

Their last visit to South Africa was in 2018, when they were part of a shared headline run that included:

  • Rocking the Daisies 2018 at Cloof Wine Estate near Darling in the Western Cape, where they appeared on a line-up that also featured 6LACK, GoldLink and Mura Masa.  
  • In The City / Can Do! In The City 2018 at Ellis Park in Johannesburg, where they performed alongside artists such as Mura Masa, 6LACK and Aminé on a one-day urban festival bill.  

For many fans, Milk + Cookies Festival 2026 will mark the duo’s first South African shows in roughly eight years, making their return one of the key international attractions of the summer calendar.

Tickets for Milk + Cookies Festival 2026 go on sale on Friday, 10 October 2025, at 08:30 (SAST) via Howler.

Prices start at R880 for general admission and R1,000 for VIP access, and the events are open to attendees aged 18 and over only.  

Organisers note that the Cape Town venue is wheelchair accessible, although some areas are sandy terrain, and are encouraging early purchases after tickets for the previous edition sold out within days.
