Obed Sibasa, the spokesperson for Gauteng Traffic Police, emphasised the importance of patience and safe driving during this busy period.

With over 2 000 vehicles expected on the N1 South via Heidelberg, as well as at the N3 South De Hoek Toll Plaza and Mooi River Toll Plaza, drivers are urged to travel during daylight hours with their headlights on for increased visibility.

Additionally, wearing seat belts, taking regular rest breaks, and avoiding risky overtaking manoeuvres on sharp curves and barrier lines are crucial for everyone’s safety.

To ensure smooth traffic flow, Gauteng traffic officers and other law enforcement agencies will closely monitor these routes leading to Durban.
