Murmurs are abuzz about a robbery that allegedly took place at a swim school in Wierdabrug, Tshwane, on Tuesday afternoon.

Gauteng police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo responded to our questions with a statement confirming a business robbery case has been opened in search of at least two suspects.
“It is alleged that one suspect who pretended to be a client entered the swimming school and requested to see the business owner. The suspect started enquiring about swimming lessons from the owner and suddenly the second suspect emerged in possession of a rifle. The suspects allegedly robbed 10 adults and eight children [of] their jewelleries, wallets and cellphones,” the statement read.
Lt. Col Masondo also confirmed that no shots were fired “and no injuries were reported.”
The suspects, however, were still at large at the time this article was published.

Reports of the incident were shared by renowned anti-crime activist Yusuf Abramjee who, in a tweet, revealed that a swimming school in the quaint Tshwane suburb was targeted by an unknown number of armed robbers.
While no mention was made of the school that was allegedly targeted, reports confirmed at least 10 women were allegedly robbed at gunpoint by an unknown number of suspects.
No further information is available, at this juncture, on what exactly was taken, or if any children were harmed in the ordeal.
