How doctors discovered Alexee Trevizo ‘dead’ baby in trash

As reported by Law and Crime, the heart-wrenching incident unfolded when a doctor made a grim announcement, revealing,

“We discovered a dead baby in the bathroom.”

The defendant claimed that the baby emerged from her unexpectedly, leaving her unsure of how to handle the situation.

In a heartfelt plea, her mother urged her to be truthful, expressing her previous conversations about such matters. Trembling with fear, Trevizo admitted to everyone that the baby did not cry.

Previous reports from Artesia, New Mexico, disclosed that Trevizo sought medical attention for lower back pain. Following her restroom visit, a custodian proceeded to clean the area and noticed that the trash bag seemed unusually heavy. Upon investigation, the custodian made the horrific discovery of the lifeless newborn.

The released body camera footage begins with a nurse informing responding officers about Trevizo’s positive pregnancy test and her denial of engaging in sexual activity.

The nurse recalled her spending an extended period of time in the restroom, and upon gaining access, they encountered a distressing scene of blood and filth. Concerned for her well-being, the nurse suspected self-harm, but the shocking revelation came when the newborn was found in the trash can.

The nurse described the newborn as full-term, leaving Trevizo’s mother in disbelief upon learning this information. Aware of recent news stories involving similar cases, she expressed her shock and referenced the legal consequences faced by other girls who mistreated their infants.

Just weeks ago, another teenage mother in New Mexico was convicted of attempted murder for placing her newborn son inside a plastic bag and discarding him in a dumpster. In that case, the defendant admitted to feeling panicked and unsure of what to do after discovering her pregnancy a day earlier.

While Trevizo’s mother briefly left to inform her husband, she promptly returned, pressing her daughter for details about the baby’s whereabouts. Trevizo confessed to placing the baby in a bag.

Authorities can be seen in the video advising the mother to give her daughter some time and assuring her that Trevizo would speak with detectives.

Due to ongoing medical concerns, authorities made arrangements to transport the 19-year-old defendant, as she was still experiencing significant bleeding and had not yet delivered the placenta.
