The Ndimande brothers, Siyabonga Gezani and Malusi Dave, have been extradited to South Africa from Eswatini and are expected to arrive at King Shaka International Airport in Durban today.
Their return marks a critical development in the high-profile murder case of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.
The brothers abandoned their appeal against extradition before the Eswatini High Court earlier this month, clearing the way for their transfer to South African authorities.
The two men, both South African nationals, had been held at the Sidwashini Correctional Services facility in Mbabane since their arrest in February 2024.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) confirmed that upon their arrival, the Ndimande brothers will be handed over to the South African Police Service and are expected to make their first appearance in the Durban Magistrate’s Court later today.
They are the final two suspects in the case to be brought under South African jurisdiction.
The extradition process, which began in March 2024, faced several delays after the defence argued that South Africa’s request was procedurally flawed.
However, Eswatini’s Director of Public Prosecutions submitted new documentation earlier this year validating the transfer, including formal diplomatic approval from then-Justice Minister Ronald Lamola.
The State alleges that the Ndimande brothers played key roles in planning and financing the coordinated attack outside Wish Restaurant in Durban on 10 February 2023.
CCTV footage from the scene captured two armed men approaching Forbes and Motsoane before opening fire and fleeing.
Police sources told Swisher Post that the case is supported by cellphone data, financial records, and witness statements linking the accused to the planning and aftermath of the killings.
Investigators believe the murders were part of a paid hit.
Five other suspects are already in custody in South Africa and are expected to stand trial alongside the Ndimandes in July 2026 at the Durban High Court.
The brothers’ extradition ends a protracted legal process that lasted over a year and allows prosecutors to proceed with a consolidated case.
Their appearance today is expected to focus on the confirmation of identity and the formal presentation of charges.
