SAINT Champagne Bar had social media in a frenzy on Sunday when it name-and-shamed a few of its bottle-popping debtors for dodging their tabs.
SAINT Champagne Bar blasts bill-skipping ‘ballers’
SAINT upholds itself as a trendy and upscale lounge reserved for big spenders. On any given night, the venue’s VIP section is often filled with high flyers popping high-end champagne and luxury spirits.
However, in a gob-smacking exposé that had the internet in stitches, SAINT revealed that for some of its esteemed guests, not all is what it seems.
The trendy bar set social media off into a frenzy when, in a statement, it warned its owing customers to settle their debts in 12 hours or be name-and-shamed.
“Should you not pay your balance within the stipulated time, we would have no choice but to make your identities public on social media with your outstanding amounts,” the club warned.
The online buzz around the SAINT Champagne Bar manhunt was so viral, it even garnered reactions from Mihlali Ndamase, who, recently was embroiled in a similar scandal with the nightclub.
“I wish you kept the same energy when it comes to paying hosts,” Ndamase wrote in a comment.
While several unnamed debtors protected their identities by settling their accounts or entering into payment arrangements, a few self-proclaimed high-stake ‘ballers’ missed the 19:00 deadline.
Consequently, these four men were publicly shamed for skipping out on settling their SAINT bills.
The trendy Cape Town nightclub, by the end of the day, managed to strongarm its debtors into honouring their debts and gave those with payment arrangements until 19:00 on Wednesday, 9 November 2022, clear their bills.
“To those we have posted, we will continue to post you every week until you clear your outstandings,” the club warned.
