FlySafair responds to OR Tambo refuelling saga with travel updates

Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) confirmed earlier today that the technical issue disrupting refuelling operations at OR Tambo International Airport has been resolved.

Despite this progress, a significant backlog of delayed departures continues to affect airline schedules, leaving passengers facing ongoing disruptions.

The refuelling crisis, which caused widespread delays and cancellations, impacted both domestic and international flights.

Technicians worked throughout the day to address the technical glitch, and while normal operations have resumed, airlines are working to clear the resulting scheduling backlog.

FlySafair, a major domestic carrier, experienced notable disruptions, with several flights delayed.

In a statement released this afternoon, FlySafair confirmed that the refuelling issue at OR Tambo caused delays across numerous routes.

The airline shared a list of affected flights, including popular routes such as FA292, FA452, and FA661.

FlySafair expressed gratitude for passengers’ patience during the disruption, adding that they are focused on managing the departure backlog as efficiently as possible.
