The Chicago-born rapper kicked off the new year with a discovery tour in the Motherland, taking in the raw textures of a continent that once thrived as a superpower.
Mensa documented his escapade on Instagram, showing every part of his encounters with high-level political figures of West Africa and connecting with the children.
From what we understand, the U Mad rapper even invited fellow Chitown native Chance The Rapper to the excursion.
Just like all good things, Mensa’s voyage came to an end and when it was time to return home to the rinsed reality of the developed world, he allegedly took along with him a… souvenir.
As reported by TMZ, Mensa was pulled aside for questioning by Dulles International Airport customs officials, who had reason to believe that a second search of the rapper’s luggage was warranted.
Sure enough, a substance believed to be mushrooms, or shrooms as they are renowned in the drug market, was discovered on the rapper and he was placed under arrest pending further investigations.
From what we understand, Mensa is being held for allegedly smuggling a Schedule 1 drug, which could hold serious implications, if it turns out that the substance is, in fact, shrooms.
No word has been heard, as yet, on Mensa’s condition.
