The Democratic Alliance (DA) received R62 million in donations for its campaign in the SA Elections 2024, making it the top-funded party according to the Electoral Commission‘s (IEC) latest disclosure report.

In the fourth quarter of the 2023-24 financial year, the DA emerged as the party with the highest declared donations.
The IEC’s report, covering the period from 1 January to 31 March 2024, revealed that the DA secured a total of R65,074,359.39.
The report also highlighted that this quarter saw a record-breaking total of R172,069,959.39 in declared donations across all political parties, marking the first time donations surpassed R100 million in a single quarter since the inception of the Party Funding Act.

Thirteen political parties declared donations during this quarter.
Apart from the DA, other notable parties and their declared donations included:
- African National Congress (ANC): R16,782,000
- Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP): R20,000,000
- Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF): R2,640,000
- ActionSA: R10,525,000
- Rise Mzansi: R15,100,000
- Change Starts Now: R35,820,000
Smaller parties like the African Transformation Movement (ATM), Independent South African National Civic Organisation (ISANCO), and others also declared varying amounts, contributing to the cumulative total.

- Jonathan Ernest Maximillan Oppenheimer: R10,000,000
- N.F. Oppenheimer: R10,000,000
- Martin Moshal: R8,000,000
- Section 48 of Flat 405 San Michele Clifton (Pty) Ltd: R6,000,000
- Gap Infrastructure Corporation (Pty) Ltd: R10,000,000 (combined from multiple donations)
- African Rainbow Minerals Limited and Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited: R2,520,000 each
- Naspers Limited: R2,000,000
The ANC received substantial contributions from entities linked to Patrice Motsepe:

- Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited: R6,900,000
- Naspers Limited: R2,000,000
- Erets: R472,000
- Boukontrakteurs: R510,000
The EFF’s declared donations included:
