Shauwn Mkhize sparks rumours of an alleged rift with Somizi

Shauwn Mkhize shared a cryptic Instagram post amid legal trouble and speculation quickly spread that it may have been aimed at Somizi Mhlongo.

Royal AM football club owner Shauwn Mkhize returned to social media this week with a cryptic message that has fans talking.

Shauwn Mkhize makes cryptic post amid mounting legal woes

In an Instagram Story, Mam’Mkhize, as she is affectionately known, shared a short video of herself dancing and smiling. But it was her caption that caught attention.

She wrote:

“My side of the story doesn’t matter anymore. Life happened, it hurt. I healed. But most importantly, I learned who deserves a seat at my table and who will never seat again.”

The post came while Mkhize faces serious financial and legal problems linked to Royal AM.

Still, many social media users were quick to look past the dancing and read deeper into her message.

Some believe the part about “who will never seat again” was aimed at Somizi Mhlongo. Although there’s been no public falling out, the two haven’t been seen together recently, and Somizi has remained silent during Mkhize’s legal troubles.

The silence, combined with the post, sparked rumours of a friendship gone cold.

Shauwn’s post comes just days after major news about Royal AM. The football club is now officially up for sale following a court decision that placed it under financial curatorship.

This move followed a SARS investigation into Shauwn Mkhize for allegedly owing more than R37 million in unpaid taxes. Her assets, including luxury cars and firearms, were seized after a police raid at her home in December 2024.

Now, the Premier Soccer League has paused all of Royal AM’s matches until the legal situation is resolved.

The club’s curator has confirmed that buyers can submit offers to purchase Royal AM, but strict rules and financial checks apply. A final decision on the sale is expected soon.

While all of this plays out, Mkhize has returned to Instagram Stories, sharing moments of joy and peace — even as her business empire faces major challenges.

Whether her post was just personal reflection or a subtle message to someone like Somizi, she hasn’t said.

Neither Mkhize nor Somizi has addressed the speculation.

But for now, Mkhize’s words — and who she’s no longer saving a seat for — have added even more mystery to her public image during a time of high scrutiny.
