New York Fashion Week (NYFW) is officially underway, setting the stage for some of the biggest names in fashion to debut their latest collections.

The event, which marks the start of Fashion Month, began with high-energy moments, including a surprise performance by rock legend Patti Smith at a Jimmy Choo dinner and an appearance by singer Caroline Polachek at a Saks Fifth Avenue event.
Designers Todd Snyder, Marc Jacobs, Christian Siriano, and Brandon Maxwell are among those showcasing their work, with Maxwell hinting at a more daring approach to his latest collection.
“The world is changing again. I didn’t want to do something that felt timid or ask for permission to exist,” he told Fashion Network.
NYFW is expected to bring a mix of runway shows, pop-ups, panel discussions, and high-profile appearances throughout the week.
Fashion lovers can anticipate exclusive collections, celebrity sightings, and deep conversations about the evolving industry.
Key events and what to expect
Beyond the runway, NYFW is delivering unique experiences for attendees.
On Friday, supermodel Chanel Iman will debut her Chasa home goods brand with an exclusive meet-and-greet. On Saturday, BruceGlen designers will host a styling session and pop-up benefiting California wildfire relief efforts.
Panel discussions will also take centre stage. Sunday’s “Beauty is Identity” talk will explore fashion and beauty’s role in LGBTQ+ self-expression, featuring celebrity makeup artist Daniel Martin and industry figures like Alex Consani, Connie Fleming, Richie Shazam, and Dev Doee.
The conversation shifts to the digital world on Monday, where Clara Bacou and Vanille Verloës will discuss the intersection of fashion, beauty, and technology.
On Tuesday, NYFW wraps up its discussion series with “Fashion Beginnings,” featuring designers Kim Shui, Jackson Wiederhoeft, and Henry Zankov, who will share insights on breaking into the industry.
