With an estimated 45,000 visitors, the event brought a much-needed boost to the local hospitality industry. eThekwini Municipality’s Economic Development and Planning Committee chairperson, Councillor Thembo Ntuli, highlighted the event’s positive economic impact, noting a direct spend of R271 million and a total contribution of R670 million to the eThekwini GDP.
The event also created approximately 5,000 jobs, further supporting the local economy.
