Controversial rapper Kanye West, who now goes by the name Ye, recently resurfaced on social media after posting a disturbing confession involving a male cousin on Monday evening.
What Kanye West shared about his cousin
The post, shared to his X account (formerly Twitter) on Monday, 21 April 2025, stunned fans and critics alike with deeply personal and unsettling details from his childhood.
In the post, West introduced a new track titled Cousins, claiming it was inspired by a cousin who is currently serving a life sentence for the murder of a pregnant woman.
In an emotionally charged caption accompanying the video, West described discovering pornographic magazines hidden in his late mother’s closet and sharing them with his cousin.
He claimed that he and the cousin, who was six years old at the time, “acted out what [they] saw.”
The message concluded with a shocking line:
“My name is Ye and I sucked my cousin’s d*** till I was 14.”

The video for Cousins includes a montage of surreal and controversial images, such as a topless woman with swastikas as nipples, and audio of West repeatedly singing, “I gave my cousin head,” followed by, “I told my cousin not to tell nobody.”
He also attempted to distance himself from any suggestion of attraction to men, stating in the song, “I don’t think they understand that I’m not attracted to a man.”
The confession has sent shockwaves across the internet, not only for its graphic nature but also for the implications about Kanye’s upbringing and its possible link to his cousin’s later criminal acts.
In the song’s lyrics, West appears to question whether he influenced his cousin’s violent future, saying, “Perhaps in my self-centred mess, I felt it was my fault.”
This was not the first time West had referenced the cousin publicly.
In a 2018 interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, he briefly mentioned loving a cousin who was “locked up for murder,” as part of a broader statement about love and forgiveness.
Just hours after posting the confession, West shared a photo with his wife, Bianca Censori, posing in a sultry outfit.

The image was captioned simply as “fit pic,” but no further activity followed.
Activity on his account has since resumed on Tuesday morning, where the controversial rapper continued on his tirade, sharing antisemitic rhetoric and making startling claims about his co-parenting situation with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian.
