Diddy Trial Day 10: Testimonies, live stream and latest updates

Day 10 of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ trial will continue with cross-examination of Capricorn Clark, whose testimony alleged kidnapping, drug procurement, and prolonged intimidation under Combs’ employment.

The trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs resumes on Tuesday following a Memorial Day break.

What to expect from Day 10 of the Diddy trial

The court is expected to continue with testimony surrounding Capricorn Clark, a former employee of Combs who detailed an alleged five-day ordeal involving forced lie detector tests and confinement over a missing piece of jewellery.

Prosecutors are also preparing to introduce bank records, text messages, and summary charts as they approach the end of their witness list, having indicated that they are nearing the conclusion of their case.

Discussions on Day 10 may revisit the DNA results found on a bottle linked to the 2012 firebombing of Kid Cudi’s car, which reportedly matched a female profile.

The defence has argued this evidence shifts suspicion away from Combs.

Federal Judge Subramanian is also expected to rule on evidentiary objections, including a challenge to expert witness Dr Dawn Hughes and the admissibility of Mescudi’s testimony under Rule 701.

What the court has heard thus far

Day 9 included six witnesses who presented accounts of alleged abuse, retaliation, and control within Combs’ personal and professional circles.

George Kaplan, a former assistant, returned to detail Combs’ private behaviour, including violence toward women and efforts to manage Combs’ image after confrontations.

He said he was ordered to fetch creams to cover injuries to Cassie Ventura’s face and witnessed an incident where Combs allegedly threw apples at a different woman.

Scott Mescudi, known professionally as Kid Cudi, testified that after beginning a relationship with Cassie Ventura in 2011, his Los Angeles home was broken into and his car was later set on fire with a Molotov cocktail. Mescudi described Ventura as deeply shaken, said Combs later denied involvement, but eventually apologized for his behavior years later.

Mylah Morales, a celebrity makeup artist, testified that she saw Ventura with facial injuries after an altercation with Combs during Grammy weekend in 2010. Morales took Ventura into her home out of fear for both their safety.

Frédéric Zemmour, general manager at L’Hermitage Hotel in LA, provided hotel records linking Combs to rooms booked under aliases and detailed unusual cleaning instructions and damage incidents.

Special Agent Josh Croft explained how digital data was recovered from Ventura’s old laptops. He outlined how deleted files could still be accessed from unallocated storage and that iTunes backups helped confirm the information’s authenticity.

Capricorn Clark, who had worked closely with Combs from 2004 to 2012, offered the most detailed testimony.

She described being accused of theft and then detained for five days in a building tied to Combs’ operations, where she was interrogated and subjected to repeated lie detector tests. She testified that she was told she would be thrown in the East River if she failed.

Clark also claimed Combs was violent, pushed her during a disagreement, and demanded she procure drugs on his behalf in several countries. She alleged witnessing Combs degrade Ventura and control her behaviour.
