Netflix’s long-running adult animated series Big Mouth has officially ended after eight seasons, with the final episodes premiering on Friday, 23 May 2025.
‘Big Mouth’ celebrates ending with farewell parade

To mark the occasion, the show’s creators embarked on a cross-country farewell tour, giving fans across the US a chance to celebrate the conclusion of one of the platform’s most talked-about comedies.
Co-created by comedian Nick Kroll, Big Mouth follows a group of teenagers as they navigate puberty with the not-so-helpful guidance of hormone monsters—embodied by characters like Maurice, Connie, and Rick.
The show gained popularity for its raw, funny, and often blunt approach to the awkwardness of adolescence. From bodily changes to first crushes, the series has never shied away from the uncomfortable truths of growing up.
Over its eight-season run, Big Mouth delivered 81 episodes, 74 original songs, and featured 222 guest stars.
It racked up more than 375 million views across its earlier seasons and achieved millions of online impressions—showing that its mix of edgy humour and relatable storytelling struck a chord with audiences.
To say goodbye in style, Kroll and the team hit the road on the Big Mouth Swallows America Farewell Tour. The 10-state promotional journey included stops in places with cheeky names like Intercourse and The Phallus.
At each stop, the crew hosted fan events, gave away themed merchadise including branded condoms and pads, and screened the first episode of the final season.

The tour culminated in Hollywood with a fuzzy yellow carpet premiere at the Egyptian Theatre. Fans were treated to a sneak peek of the final season and took part in a post-screening discussion with co-creators Jennifer Flackett, Andrew Goldberg, and Mark Levin, along with cast members including Ayo Edebiri and Jason Mantzoukas. Kroll himself hosted the Q&A session.
What’s next for Netflix’s adult anime catalog
Though Big Mouth has wrapped, Netflix confirmed the team isn’t done with adult animation.
A new series titled Mating Season is on the way in 2026. Created by the same minds behind Big Mouth, the show features a cast of animated forest animals dealing with love and sex in the wild.
Set in a world populated by bears, raccoons, deer, and foxes, Mating Season promises the same level of outrageous humor and emotional honesty that made Big Mouth a hit.
With Big Mouth closing its chapter, the creators are moving forward, ready to explore new stories about the awkwardness and hilarity of relationships—this time, from the perspective of the animal kingdom.
