LISTEN: Cassie threatens to kill ‘freak off’ escort in resurfaced audio

The recording dates back to 2014 and was introduced by lawyers for Sean “Diddy” Combs during his federal sex trafficking trial.

In the audio, Ventura is heard saying, “I will kill you if you don’t show me right now,” referring to the video the man claimed to have. She continues, “I will kill you and hide you,” and at one point adds,

“It’s not going to be blood on my hands. Someone else is going to do it.”

The man in the audio has not been publicly identified but was reportedly someone close to Ventura, as she calls him “my brother” during the confrontation.

The court heard that Ventura was reacting to pressure she felt from Diddy at the time. She told the court that Combs had directed her not to let the man go until she got answers about the video.

Ventura testified, “I felt sick” about the idea that a sex tape could leak. She said she was under pressure from Diddy and felt it was her responsibility to resolve the issue.

“I felt like I had to handle the situation,” she said.

During cross-examination, Diddy’s defence lawyer Anna Estevao questioned whether Combs had taken steps to protect Ventura’s privacy. Estevao mentioned that Combs allegedly “spent a significant amount of money” to prevent such videos from being made public, though Ventura said she was not aware of that.

What’s the latest in the Diddy trial?

Ventura’s testimony has been central to the case. She has accused Combs of physical abuse, rape, and forcing her into sexual acts with male escorts—referred to as “freak-offs”—while he watched and filmed.

According to Ventura, Combs would sometimes use these recordings to control and threaten her. She recalled one incident during a flight from France to New York where Combs allegedly played one of these explicit videos for her mid-air, threatening to release it to “embarrass” her.

Combs has denied the allegations and insists all sexual activity was consensual. He faces charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. If found guilty, he could face life in prison.

The trial, now in its fourth week, paused unexpectedly on Wednesday when a juror fell ill with vertigo. The court was scheduled to observe Juneteenth on Thursday and plans to resume Friday if the juror is able to return.

Before the pause, jurors viewed about 10 minutes of explicit video evidence reportedly featuring Combs, Ventura, and male escorts. Though jurors wore headphones, sounds from the footage were audible in the courtroom, reportedly shocking many in attendance.

Brendan Paul, Diddy’s former assistant and a key figure in the prosecution’s drug trafficking allegations, is expected to testify next. Paul has been granted immunity in exchange for his cooperation.

As the trial progresses, further testimony and evidence are expected to focus on the complex and disturbing allegations at the center of the case.
