Watch: Vereeniging house robbery caught on CCTV
Video footage of the robbery surfaced on social media, showing the daring stunt pulled off by at least three robbers in broad daylight.
According to metadata found in the footage, the Vereeniging house was robbed shortly after 17:00 on Monday. When the video clip starts, the robbers had already breached the house’s automatic security gate.
The men were seen walking casually out of frame and into the property, while the getaway driver got out to prepare the loading of stolen goods.
The men took turns going in and hauling out the most valuable items they could lay their hands on.
The first suspect was seen running out of the house carrying a laptop. His crime mate grabbed the family’s LED TV and hauled it to the white getaway vehicle. Another man was filmed leaving the house with a brown handbag in his grasp, sparking fears that, perhaps, the homeowners may have been in the building at the time of the robbery.
Despite our valiant attempts, Swisher Post was unable to reach Vereeniging police to ascertain specific facts regarding the whereabouts of the family and their condition.
The acts of the house robbers were so brazen, that, at one point, as they were piling in the stolen goods, two eyewitnesses were seen strolling by, completely oblivious to what was unfolding before their eyes.
The video footage ends as the robbers prepare to pull out of the driveway.
It’s presumed the suspects involved in the Vereeniging house robbery are still at large.
