Police arrest one of Limpopo’s most wanted criminal 

The arrest operation was executed following actionable intelligence information and thorough monitoring of the suspect's movements.

Limpopo police have arrested one of the province’s most wanted suspects wanted in connection with a series of ATM bombings and robbery cases.

The 31-year-old male suspect was apprehended on 24 May 2025, at approximately 17:00 in the Giyani Central Business District, following intelligence-driven operations conducted by the Mopani District Tracking Team, in collaboration with Giyani Public Order Police (POPS) members.

The suspect faces multiple charges:

  • Count 1:  Robbery with aggravated circumstances
  • Count 2: Malicious damage to property (ATM bombing)
  • Seshego Policing Area (March 2023):
  • Count 1: Robbery with aggravated circumstances
  • Count 2: Malicious damage to property (ATM bombing)

The arrest operation was executed following actionable intelligence information and thorough monitoring of the suspect’s movements. The multi-disciplinary team successfully located and apprehended the suspect in the Giyani central business district.

Following his arrest, the suspect was transported to Giyani South African Police Service (SAPS), where he was formally processed and detained. The case has been transferred to the Provincial Organized Crime Unit for further investigation.

“This arrest represents a significant breakthrough in our ongoing fight against organized crime, particularly the scourge of ATM bombings that have terrorized our communities and cost our economy millions of rands. 

“The successful apprehension of this most wanted suspect demonstrates the effectiveness of our intelligence-driven operations and the dedication of our specialized units,” said Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe.

The suspect will appear in court soon.
