Limpopo police have intensified their search for Lovemore Musoyi, a Zimbabwean serial killer believed to be around 35 years old, who is wanted in connection with over 10 criminal cases. 

Zimbabwean serial killer evades Limpopo police as manhunt continues

According to Limpopo authorities, Musoyi has been evading capture, prompting Sekhukhune detectives to launch a massive manhunt to apprehend him.

His crimes span across various areas including Elandskraal, Motetema, Dennilton, and Rakgoadi.

Musoyi is implicated in numerous serious offences, including murder, attempted murder, armed robberies, house robberies, business robberies, kidnapping, assaults, stock theft, and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

His criminal activities have created widespread fear and unrest in the region.

Lovemore Musoyi’s last known crime

The most recent incident involving Musoyi occurred on 20 June 2024 at approximately 19:45, when he and his accomplices carried out a brazen business robbery at a tuck shop in Mafisheng village.

During the robbery, Musoyi brutally attacked a male victim with an axe, accusing him of betrayal.

The suspects then looted the shop, stealing money and soft drinks before fleeing the scene.

In a separate incident on New Year’s Day in 2023, Musoyi managed to escape from a police vehicle at Moutse Mall in Dennilton while being transported to Witbank Correctional Services.

This daring escape involved two other suspects, who were subsequently re-arrested. Musoyi’s ability to evade capture has raised concerns about the effectiveness of the current security measures.

Further adding to his list of crimes, on 2 February 2024, Musoyi engaged in a violent altercation at his ex-girlfriend’s residence. During the incident, he shot his ex-girlfriend’s brother in the mouth before fleeing the scene with a television set.
