In a shocking confession, the suspect arrested for the mass stabbing in Glenmore, Durban, has disclosed that he targeted the Hoosen family due to their pro-Palestinian stance.

The suspect allegedly gained entry into their home in the early hours of Sunday morning and attacked the family members inside.

Paramedics from ALS responded to the incident around 03:30 am on Hyder Road.

Upon arrival, they found a horrific scene: a woman in her forties, Halima Firoza Hoosen, had been fatally stabbed multiple times.

Despite the paramedics’ efforts, she was declared dead at the scene.

Her two relatives, who also suffered multiple stab wounds, were in critical condition and were stabilised on-site before being rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent care.

The suspect, now in custody, confessed to the police that he attacked the family due to their support for Palestine, a stance he found objectionable.

This is a developing story.
