The Western Cape is set to welcome over 30,000 cyclists to the Cape Town Cycle Tour on Sunday, 9 March 2025.
Here’s what to expect from this year’s Cape Town Cycle Tour
This year’s race will feature three different routes:
- The traditional 109km route, starting at the Grand Parade and circling the Cape Peninsula.
- The 78km Invitational Women’s Race and U17 Boys Race, both kicking off from Fish Hoek and ending in Green Point.
- A 42km alternative route, introduced in 2023, designed for less experienced cyclists, starting at the Grand Parade and heading towards the Southern Suburbs before looping back to the city.
The Cape Town Cycle Tour is Africa’s biggest timed cycling race, attracting thousands of international participants.
In 2024, over 10,500 cyclists from 46 different countries joined, boosting local tourism and business.
